Millars Well Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher - Early Childhood to join our team.

The successful applicant will ideally create a safe and nurturing classroom environment that enables both high quality, rigorous play-based learning and developmentally appropriate explicit instruction. A commitment to practices that support the National Quality Standard will be highly regarded. To be successful in this role, the ongoing development of cultural awareness and responsiveness is encouraged. The successful applicant will ideally be familiar with and committed to a positive behaviour support (PBS) model, and will demonstrate the capacity to explicitly teach behaviours and mindsets that support self-regulation, respect and resilience.

Millars Well PS is committed to providing robust oral language, numeracy and literacy programs in the early years, and is also committed to effective early intervention. An understanding of effective practices for supporting oral language development, including for speakers of Aboriginal English, will be highly regarded. The ability to plan and effectively deliver systematic, synthetic phonics programs at Tier 1 and Tier 2 for students in Kindergarten and Pre-Primary is also highly regarded. Experience with seamless delivery of a rigorous mathematics program to young children through systematic and developmentally appropriate practice based on a whole-school scope and sequence will be highly regarded.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

Employees will be required to:

Employees will be required to:
  • Complete the Department's induction program within three months of commencement; and
